My 14-month-old figured out the circle on day one and now goes back to this puzzle every morning. The four wooden pieces are thick enough for her little fists, and I like that it's just shapes with no noise or batteries.
The shapes are chunky enough that my 18-month-old can grab them without frustration, and he's already matching the circle to its hole. Nice thick wood too, it's survived a few good drops onto the tile.
My 14-month-old can actually grip these chunky wooden shapes, which was the whole problem with our other puzzle. The paint has held up fine through a few chews, though the pieces are a bit slippery on our coffee table.
