We use it as a floor drum and as a target for stacking cups, so it's getting plenty of mileage. The 6M+ age rating feels right, and the batteries last a good while even with all the banging.

The battery compartment is tucked away securely, so I don't worry when our 6-month-old shakes it upside down like a rattle. He's figured out that tapping the top makes a different sound than banging the sides, and that keeps him entertained for a solid ten minutes while I make coffee.

Our 8-month-old loves the different sounds from the sides and top, and it’s held up well to being thrown around. The battery compartment is a bit tricky to open, but once it’s in, the drum keeps her entertained for ages.
