My 4-year-old spends ages winding the little crank and lifting the hook, and I can see his hand-eye coordination getting sharper every week. The wood feels solid in his hands, not flimsy like the plastic toys he usually breaks.
My 4-year-old spends ages just raising and lowering the hook, and I can see his hands getting steadier each time. The wood feels solid and the moving parts aren't stiff at all, so he can actually operate it himself.
The wooden crane is sturdy enough and my son likes moving the little blocks around, but honestly he lost interest after a week. I expected the balance and coordination bit to keep him busy longer, though the hand-eye practice is real while he does play with it.
