My toddler grabbed it immediately and started pressing the buttons, which held her attention way longer than I expected. Batteries were already in the box, so we played with the colors and animals modes right out of the package. Nice that the wooden top doubles as a pixel board once she's older.
My one-year-old won't stop pressing the buttons to cycle through the color, animal, and melody modes, and the pixelated wooden surface flips the whole thing into a fun little puzzle board. The batteries being included meant it worked right out of the box, which I really appreciated.
The three music modes are a lifesaver on car rides—my toddler cycles through colors, animals, and melodies without getting bored. Batteries came included, which I didn't expect, and the wooden surface flipping to pixel art kept her curious for a solid twenty minutes.
